Learning the Zones of Regulation helps little bodies be able to recognize what they are feeling and learn to adjust or "regulate" what they're feeling based on what environment they're in. Check out The Zones of Regulation website: www.zonesofregulation.com

What does a School Social Worker do?
A school social worker can be the link between students, school, their family and the community.
A school social worker works to help with crisis situations, brief, school-focused interventions, and ongoing support to students with social-emotional needs as defined on an IEP.
In D96 school social workers are also the Sectoin 504 case manager.

Social-Emotional Learning Standards
Did you know that current research suggests that well developed social-emotional skills are better indicators of future success than standardized test scores?
District 96 believes in the power of SEL skills and is working to incorporate them into our daily routine. Illinois is one of the first states in the country to have specific social-emotional goals for students with IEPs that drive counseling goals.
Just another way that D96 is innovative and works with the whole child!

If you have a group of parents that would like to learn more about a specific social-emotional topic and how you can support your child at home- please contact me and we can set up a workshop.
